For years, scientists have told us that it was impossible to travel through time. A few years ago, they said that we would not be able to walk on the moon, but we did. They said that a plane could not fly, but it can. They said computers would be here and gone, but they continue to evolve. Time travel may not be possible during the baby boomers’s generation but maybe there is one child who will grow up to develop the first time travel machine during the next century.
Some people say that if they could travel through time they would change a lot of things. But when you think about it, some decisions were meant to be made even if they were a bad. The movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” comes to mind. If the person who met their spouse in high school and eventually married them had not ended up in that time to meet what changes would they have made? Their children who give them joy everyday would not be here, or their child who will be president one day would not have been born, or the job that someone decided not to take would not have developed software that became the number one product used today on computers people said would not last.
Time travel would be great if we could see why John Wilkes Booth shot Abraham Lincoln, or how Marilyn Monroe actually died. When you think about it, traveling through time may sound exciting, but changing things that happened in your life would change more than we think. If you changed that one bad decision then you may cause two more to happen later on.
